I’ve been working on this guy for a few weeks now and he’s gone through many subtle changes. I have no idea when the final product will become available, but I do look forward to framing it when the time comes. I’m very grateful that, despite my very busy schedule, I’m still able to find windows of time to both create work and experience healing moments of inspiration.

Hey everybody! I have a new piece I’m working on, inspired by my recent smaller painting “Silence”, but it’s only in the beginning stages so far. I thought I’d do a progress pic and remind you all of what I look like.

Ghosts” is finished and ready for framing! I have the perfect one picked out and will be installed next week.This 8x10” started its life maybe 3 weeks ago as a simple view of a forested shoreline. I hated it and put it aside for a while to focus on other projects.Earier this week I decided to either toss it or fix it and I’m very glad I gave it another chance. I added a heavy amount of mist and texture to create something I really enjoyed, though it definitely looks significantly more interesting in person.

“Apparition” is framed and ready for the Odd Duck Studio show on February 3rd!I often deliberately compose my monsters in a way that has them interacting with or noticing the viewer. I want these beings to exist within our space, to live within our realm, and not only be seen in larger inconsequential landscapes. When my monster is hung on a wall it becomes an inhabitant of the room and an ambassador of nature’s mystery.This is an 11x14” piece done on canvas in oil. Those interested are invited to come to the show where it will be for sale!
